Erik Martin Redix (Eagle Clan, Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe) is an independent scholar and consultant. He received his PhD in history from the University of Minnesota in 2012. He is the author of The Murder of Joe White: Ojibwe Leadership and Colonialism in Wisconsin (Michigan State University Press, 2014). He currently resides on the Grand Portage Reservation and has operated his own maple sugar camp for over fifteen seasons.
