Joseph C. Fitzharris is a Professor of History Emeritus at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and the author of The Hardest Lot of Men: The Third Minnesota Infantry in the Civil War (University of Oklahoma Press, 2019), the only scholarly history of the Third Minnesota.
